Use the country selector when your Pinterest audience is mainly in a specific market. Changing the country helps Pinsearch research keyword ideas and estimated volume in a more relevant context.

When to change the country

Change the country when:
  • Most of your audience is in one country
  • You write for a local market
  • You manage Pinterest content for clients in different countries
  • You want to compare how a topic behaves across markets
For example:
  • A US home decor blogger may use US.
  • A UK food blogger may use GB.
  • A creator writing for a broad audience may test Global and then compare it with their main country.

How country affects results

Country selection can affect:
  • Related keyword ideas
  • Estimated volume
  • Difficulty and trend context
  • The Pinterest market Pinsearch uses for research
The same topic can behave differently in different markets. A keyword that looks strong in the US may be smaller, larger, or phrased differently in another country.

Compare two countries

To compare markets:
  1. Search the same seed keyword in your first country.
  2. Save or export the best ideas.
  3. Change the country.
  4. Run the same search again.
  5. Compare estimated volume, difficulty, and keyword phrasing.
If you publish for more than one country, create separate Projects for each market so your research stays organized.
