Keyword Finder gives each keyword a few signals to help you decide which ideas are worth using. The main signals are estimated volume, difficulty, and recent trends.
Keyword Finder table showing estimated volume, difficulty scores, and recent trend charts

Estimated volume

Estimated volume helps you understand how much demand a keyword may have. Higher estimated volume usually means more people are interested in that topic. Lower estimated volume can still be useful when the keyword is specific and closely matches your audience. Use estimated volume to:
  • Compare related keyword ideas
  • Find bigger topics for articles or boards
  • Avoid spending too much time on ideas with very little demand
  • Spot niche phrases that are smaller but more focused
Estimated volume is a planning signal, not an exact promise of future traffic.

Difficulty

Difficulty is a 0 to 100 estimate of how competitive a keyword may be.
  • 0 to 29: Easier
  • 30 to 69: Medium
  • 70 to 100: Harder
A high difficulty keyword can still be useful, especially if it fits your niche well. It may just need stronger visuals, a clearer angle, or more supporting content. Recent Trends shows a small trend chart for the keyword. Use it to see whether interest looks like it is:
  • Moving up
  • Moving down
  • Staying mostly steady
Trends are useful when you are planning seasonal content. If a topic is starting to rise, you may want to create and publish earlier.

A simple way to choose keywords

Look for a healthy balance:
  • Enough estimated volume to make the topic worth creating
  • Difficulty that matches your current account or site strength
  • A trend that supports the timing of your content
  • A topic that clearly fits your audience
For example, a lower-volume keyword with easier difficulty may be better than a huge keyword where every result is very competitive.
