# Troubleshoot Pinterest publishing

> Resolve draft issues, scheduling limits, paused accounts and failed publications.

Start with the message beside the affected Pin or account. It identifies whether the problem is the draft, schedule or Pinterest connection.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="A draft is not ready to publish">
    Open its editor and check the image and board. A board is required; copy and destination links are optional. If a link is entered, it must be a valid complete address. Save changes and check the readiness indicator again. Uploading and copy preparation may still be in progress for a new batch.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The queue needs setup">
    Add weekly times in **Publishing → Settings** and save. Check the time zone, then add the Pin to the queue again.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A Pin is waiting for a time">
    Check available queue times, daily publishing capacity and spacing between Pins from the same URL. Pins may not all fit within the current planning window. Adding more valid times or using fewer Pins can free capacity.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A plan limit was reached">
    Account limits, daily publication limits and the cap on waiting Pins are separate. Free also has a monthly scheduling allowance. Review [plan limits](/pinsearch-product-guides/billing-credits-and-access/compare-basic-plus-and-pro). Buying article credits does not raise publishing limits.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Publishing is paused">
    Read the pause reason. A manual pause can be resumed with **Turn publishing on**. A connection or access problem needs resolving first. Review the queue after resuming because missed times can move forward.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The account needs reconnecting">
    Open **Settings → Pinterest** and reconnect the affected account. Then check its publishing status and upcoming Pins. Avoid creating replacement drafts while the original queue is still waiting.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A scheduled Pin did not go out">
    Check the account time zone, Publishing status and the Pin's message. Missed Pins can be moved to a future time or returned for attention, rather than published in a catch-up burst. Review both Queue and Drafts before scheduling another copy.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The result of a publication is uncertain">
    Check Pinterest and the Pin's current state before retrying. A delay or connection error can occur after Pinterest accepts a Pin. Creating another copy immediately may result in duplicate publications.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Moving a draft to another account removed its board">
    This is expected. The image and metadata move, while the board and schedule are cleared. Choose a board belonging to the destination account and schedule it again.
  </Accordion>
