# Manage and troubleshoot automations

> Monitor runs, pause recurring work and resolve source or publishing problems.

Open an automation from **My automations** to review its status, next run, results and items waiting for your approval.

## Read the results

Use the run history to follow each post or topic. Results can link to the article, WordPress post or created Pins. Pin counts distinguish Drafts, scheduled, published and failed output. Article flows also show credits used.

An item waiting for your approval needs a decision. An item waiting for publication, copy preparation or another step may continue without a decision; read its stage message first.

## Edit, pause and resume

Open the automation's edit action to change its name, source, steps, workload or schedule. Check **Saved** and the new plan after editing.

Pausing stops new automation work. Resume after reviewing the source, destinations and any reason it was automatically paused.

<Warning>
  Pins already scheduled still go out when you pause an automation. To stop those too, pause the Pinterest account under **Publishing → Settings**, or move affected Pins back to Drafts.
</Warning>

Deleting an automation stops its recurring work. Review already generated articles and queued Pins separately; removing the automation is not a way to retract published content.

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="The automation paused itself">
    Read **Paused** and its reason, fix the issue, then resume. Common checks include credit balance, Pinterest connection, queue times and plan limits.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="No new items were found">
    Check whether the source has unused posts or topics. Website category and tag filters may exclude everything. A Project or written list may need more topics.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Some Pins were not made">
    A post may lack suitable photos or its photos may not fit the chosen templates. Inspect the output and try a more suitable template set. The requested Pin count is not a guarantee that every design can be made.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Pins stayed in Drafts">
    Check whether **Schedule on Pinterest** is configured for Drafts, whether this was a test run, or whether copy, board selection or scheduling could not finish. Review the Pins in Publishing before queueing them.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="An article was saved as a WordPress draft">
    Check the WordPress step's **Save as draft** setting. Pins cannot link to an unpublished draft; publish the post before continuing its Pinterest workflow.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="The weekly run time differs from Pin publication times">
    The automation's weekly schedule starts production. Pins then use the Pinterest account's queue times, spacing and available capacity.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I ran out of credits">
    Article writing uses 2 credits per idea. Review the displayed monthly estimate and reduce articles or ideas per article, or add credits. Pin design and scheduling do not consume article credits.
